Here are the original brushes that started it all! During the many re-boots and re-designs of the Bureau’s site, I have often forgot to re-post these brushes. They are the first one that I ever created and to be honest, I tend to forget about them.

Apparently there are a number of people who still use them, because I always seems to get at least a few emails a week asking for the brush sets.  I am happy that people still use them and I always mean to create more, but over the last few years I have moved away from digital design and tend to only use Photoshop to layout an idea or finish a project. Maybe I will create some new brush sets in the near future but until then, here is a blast from the past.

It’s hi-tech vs vintage…and we all win. This brush set is perfect for creating unique patterns and backgrounds. Find interesting sections within the patterns to create new patterns. Use color overlays and layer effects to really bring out the potential of these brushes.

One of my personal favorite set of brushes. These shapes where taken and manipulated from old comic book and magazine ads. These brushes can help add that bit of authenticity when you are going for that true retro feel. Take care to research source material from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s when you use these brushes. If you don’t they can end up being misused and abused.

To be honest, I don’t know what the hell I was thinking when I created this brush set. It has some great shapes and if the proper care is taken to slice and dice it up, the results can be visually interesting and quite unique. Not for the novice.
