Fonts

From time to time, I am faced with a project that calls for a unique typographic treatment and solution. When that occurs I will often hire professional typographers to create custom typefaces. I really like creating typefaces but to do it right, it takes a lot of preparation, dedication and straight up skill. So out of respect for those who have built a career out of creating type, I try to limit my creating fonts to simply experimental explorations. The typefaces here are in no way created to be polished and often do have correct tracking and leading but that is not to say they are without creative merit. To find the true potential of these fonts it will take a lot of trial and error but can often yield interesting results.

8th Grade Dentention

This font was created from one of my old notebooks and was an actual “doodle” created during one of my frequent after school incarcerations.

Dekonstructed

Dekonstructed was a font that I created to be used in a DIY flyer for a friend’s garage rock band. I use it from time to time and it can reward those willing to invest some time trying to tame it’s wild ways.
