One of the best ways to spark some creativity in Photoshop is to use some unique brushes. The key to successfully using a Bureau brush set is not using the brush “as is”.
These brushes really start to shine when variables are applied to them. Try changing the size and mode of the brushes as well as using them with the burn, dodge and erase tools. What kind of result you get from these brush sets is solely dependant on how hard you are willing to make them work
for you.

What’s The Splatter?
Created from hi res scans of discarded test prints along with ink and paint spills, this brush set is perfect for adding that “created by hand” feeling to a piece. Using multiple colors and various brushes from this set, a layered painted texture can easily be achieved.
There are a total of 25 brushes in this set.

Savage K
This brush set was specifically created for Karma, a designer friend of The Bureau. Karma is a big fan of the zombie genre, so that is where this brush set gets its inspiration.
This set contains 56 hi res brushes.

Slabbatical
After taking a year sabbatical, one of The Bureau’s first projects back was a CD package design. The project needed a custom slab typeface, so I hand carved this alphabet.
Later I scanned some prints I had made from the carvings and created this brush set from those scans.
This set contains 26 hi res brushes.

Broken Landscapes
I was working on a poster design for a client and I needed some background texture to help give the design some depth. The element had to be subtle enough not to over power the main focus of the design but also have enough visual impact to justify it’s existence and use. I printed out silhouettes, cut them apart, and then collaged them together and created this brush set from the results.
This set contains 12 hi res brushes.

SporeRatik
I was working on a rock poster design that called for a 60’s Mod look and feel. I needed a texture that was both iconic and organic at the same time. In the end, I never ended up using this brush set for that project but is still remains one of my personal favorites.
This set contains 10 hi res brushes.

D-Stress
This is another of the original brush sets and one of the few sets that I have loaded up at all times. Somehow, I always find a use for at least one of these brushes to be used in almost all of my work.
This brush set is massive and contains three sub sets that total 139 brushes.

Beautiful Kaos
This is a good example of a brush set that really has to be manipulated to yield successful results. Using these brushes “as is” would be a pointless exercise but with some imagination and patience, this set can help breathe some life into a design.
This set contains 24 brushes.

Korrode
These brushes were taking from metal and packaging found that had been ravaged by the elements in a machine shop that I used to work in. This brush set excels when used as an eraser setting.
This set contains 46 brushes.
